ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Oneonta women's basketball team soared past their city rival in the Battle of the Hills and defeated Hartwick 68-42, Tuesday evening. Junior
Lidia Boucher (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central High School) led the game with a career-high 19 points, shooting 7-for-10 from the field and 5-for-5 from three-point land.
Carlie Young (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville Central) shot 6-for-9 from the floor to finish with 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, all of which were career-highs for the sophomore. The Red Dragons improved to 2-2 on the season and the Hawks dropped to 0-4.

Nadia Brown (Troy, NY/Troy) were on fire from deep in the first half as they combined for 22 points with six three-pointers to outscore Hartwick's team and give Oneonta a 35-20 lead at halftime. The Hawks were up 13-5 at 4:42 in the first before the Red Dragons ended the quarter with a 13-0 run, where Boucher scored eight, Brown knocked down a triple from the wing, and senior
Molly Coyne (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) banked in a deep two-pointer.
Hartwick cut the deficit to two, 20-18, at 8:03 in the second, then Oneonta closed out the half with a 15-2 stretch. During the run, Boucher hit a pair of threes, Brown recorded five points, and Young scored a couple baskets under the rim to get to their 15-point lead at the break.
The Red Dragons held onto at least a 15-point advantage for the remainder of the game. Young led the team with six points in the third quarter, scoring all of them inside the paint, and senior
Amanda Zuntag (Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame Academy) added five points and five rebounds to put Oneonta up 51-33 entering the fourth.

Alana Batson (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) tallied four points on a couple drives to the lane. Freshman
Kendall Mack (Cortland, NY/Cortland) scored the final four points in the contest for the 68-42 final.
Brown finished with 10 points, shooting 2-for-5 from deep, and had three assists, while Zuntag was one point shy of a double-double, totaling nine points and 11 rebounds. Coyne scored seven points and collected five boards, and junior
Emma Schwarzbeck (Wallkill, NY/Wallkill Senior High School) dished out the game-high five assists.
Oneonta shot 44.3 percent from the field, 40.0 percent (8-20) from three-point range, and held a 42-28 rebounding advantage. Hartwick shot 27.8 percent from the floor and 4.8 percent (1-21) from deep.
The Red Dragons are back home for their next game on Tuesday, November 26, when they host Cobleskill at 6:30 pm.
