Red Dragons Compete Against Cortland on Senior Day

ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team took on Cortland for Senior Day, falling 129-95 to the visitors. 

The meet opened with the 200-medley relay, where the group of juniors Cadence Dudley (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley), Callie Stinson (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac), and sophomore Jessica Shaw (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) placed third with a 2:02.86.

Junior Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip) finished second in the 1,000-freestyle at 12:00.08. Senior Sophia Olson (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) placed second in the 200-freestyle at 2:07.90, while Shaw was fourth with a 2:14.36.

In the 50-freestyle, Oneonta took the top two spots, with sophomore Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) placing first (27.45) and Stinson second (27.75).

Senior Claire Armstrong (Woodbury, NY/Monroe Woodbury) earned second in the 200-IM at 2:29.45, while McCall was third at 2:37.78. 

Junior Margaret Nolan (North Bellmore, NY/Mepham) won the one-meter dive with 146.80 points. 

LaBarbera took second in the 100-freestyle at 59.13, and Duley finished fifth with a 1:04.86.

Shaw tallied a second-place finish in the 100-backstroke, while freshman Alexandria Bard (Schenectady, NY/Duanesburg) placed third (1:11.64).

Olson grabbed second in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:41.92. Senior Emma Stephenson (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) won the 100-breaststroke at 1:17.95, and Dudley took second at 1:20.56. Freshman Raina Willie (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville Senior) placed third (1:28.29).

The 200-freestyle relay of Stinson, LaBarbera, Nakken, and freshman Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) won with a 1:50.44.

Oneonta wraps up the regular season with a dual meet at New Paltz on Sat. Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
