CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team earned four individual victories in the 187-97 loss to Cortland on Saturday afternoon.
Junior Claire Armstrong (Woodbury, NY/Monroe Woodbury) won the 200-IM with a season-best time of 2:25.59, while junior Sophia Olson (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) was first in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:06.20. Sophomore Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley) swam a personal best of 1:12.67 to win the 100-yard breaststroke, and junior Emma Trumino (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:26.48.
Armstrong went for fourth in the 200-freestyle at 2:10.82, and sophomore Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip) was fifth at 2:12.32. Senior Kayla Keddy (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) earned second in the 100-backstroke, touching at 1:04.50. Trumino placed fourth with a time of 1:08.41.
Keddy tallied a second-place finish in the 50-freestyle with a 27.71, and freshman Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) took third at 27.80.
Nakken touched at season best of 1:00.95 in the 100-freestyle, and freshman Jessica Shaw (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) was fourth at 1:01.54. After Trumino was first in the 200-backstroke, Keddy was third with a 2:29.03.In the 500-freestyle, Olson took third with a time of 5:41.98.
Junior Anna Guzzo (Niskayuna, NY/Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) swam a 1:10.55 in the 100-fly, which was good for third place.
In the diving events, sophomore Margaret Nolan (North Bellmore, NY/Mepham) scored 338.55 in six dives in the 3-meter. Freshman Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) was fourth with 337.80 points. Hodkinson went for third in the 1-meter dive with 379.20 points, and Nolan was fourth with 353.55.
Oneonta wraps up the regular season on Sat. Feb. 4 in a home dual meet against New Paltz at 1 p.m.
