The SUNY Oneonta baseball team was defeated by Cortland 15-2, in the final game of their opening SUNYAC series Saturday afternoon. The loss drops Oneonta to 5-13 overall and 0-3 in the SUNYAC.

Cortland scored more than half of their runs unearned in the contest. Oneonta avoided the shutout in the ninth inning with a couple runs. Juniors
Tyler Widercrantz (Wading River/Shoreham Wading River) and
Jake Barrett (Hauppauge/St. Anthony's) each hit singles to get runners on the corners with one out. Widercrantz scored on a throwing error, and Barrett later crossed home on a wild pitch.
