BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team put on a clinic against Buffalo State as 11 players found the basket and defensively held the Bengals to 26.4 percent from the field for a 68-37 victory, Friday evening. The Red Dragons had 39 points come from the bench and 24 points off turnovers as their record improved to 6-3 on the season and 3-1 in the SUNYAC while the Bengals dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference. Brianna Smith gave the Bengals the first lead of the game with a jump shot, however the Red Dragons took over and closed out the first quarter with a 15-2 stretch. Sophomore
Amanda Zuntag (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy) tied the game with a layup and then made a pair at the line to give Oneonta the lead for good with 6:08 left in the first. During the run, senior
Olivia Dobrovosky (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) hit a jumper, freshman
Emma Schwarzbeck (Wallkill, NY/Wallkill Senior High School) made one from deep, and junior
Molly Stephens (LaGrange/Arlington) drilled a couple threes and Oneonta went into the second up 15-4.
The Bengals turned the ball over in the first possession of the second quarter and it turned into a senior
Meg Nardelli (Wappingers Falls/Roy C. Ketcham) triple on the other end. Dobrovosky scored the next six points for the Red Dragons to give them a 24-12 advantage with 6:46 in the half. After Buffalo State's Carly Atty and Adiya Jones made a jumper, sophomore
Sophia Wakin (Delhi/Delaware Academy) found Nardelli under the basket to bring the lead back to 10. In the closing seconds of the half, Schwarzbeck found Stephens at the top of the key for a knock down three that put Oneonta up 29-16.  Â
The Red Dragons started the third quarter with a 12-2 run to increase their lead to 23. Dobrovosky and junior
Jenna Harclerode (Sayville/Sayville) each had four points during the stretch, sophomore
Nadia Brown (Troy/Troy) nailed a jump shot, and Zuntag closed it out with two free throws to make it 41-18 with 5:47 left in the third. With 20 seconds left in the quarter, sophomore
Kennady Amo (Cape Vincent/Thousand Islands) found
Molly Coyne (Syracuse/West Genesee) for two three-pointers and extended the lead 52-25. Â

Megan Palmatier (Bainbridge/Bainbridge-Guilford) made it a 30-point game a minute into the fourth with a layup. Wakin and senior
Elizabeth Thompson (Morris/Morris) scored the Red Dragons final 12 points, scoring six apiece as Oneonta walked out with the 68-37 victory. Â
The Red Dragons had seven players score at least six points. Dobrovosky finished with 12 points, five rebounds and three steals. Off the bench, Stephens had 11 points, shooting 3-for-5 from deep, and added four rebounds. Wakin ended with eight points and six rebounds.
Tashawni Cornfield had 18 points for the Bengals and Smith had 11 points. Â
Oneonta grabbed 43 rebounds and shot 47.1 percent from the three-point line (8-17) while Buffalo State had 31 rebounds and shot 23.5 percent from deep (4-17). Â
The Red Dragons are back in action tomorrow at Fredonia at 2 pm.Â
