ONEONTA, N.Y. -Â Three Oneonta women's swimming and diving team members picked up two first-place finishes in Saturday's 187-81 victory over Hartwick. Additionally, the Red Dragons won both relays and swept the diving events.Â
Kayla Keddy (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), Emma Stephenson (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy), Anna Guzzo (Niskayuna, NY/Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons), and Sophia Olson (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) gave the Red Dragons their first win of the day in the 200-medley relay. The group finished at 1:58.23. Oneonta took the top-two spots in the 1,000-freestyle, with sophomore Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip) winning with a time of 12:06.95. Stephenson was second at 12:29.57. Olson swam a season-best of 2:06.27 to win the 200-freestyle, and the Red Dragons then went 1-2-3 in the 100-backstroke. Keddy touched at a season-fast 1:04.40 to win, while junior Emma Trumino (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) was second at 1:07.59. First-year Jessica Shaw (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) placed third with a time of 1:08.69.Â
Stephenson earned second place in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:17.01, and sophomore Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley) swam a personal best of 1:26.15 to take third. Junior Claire Armstrong (Woodbury, NY/Monroe Woodbury) won the 200-fly by nearly seven seconds at 2:33.67, and then Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) claimed first in the 50-freestyle at 27.37. Junior Anna Guzzo (Niskayuna, NY/Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) recorded a personal best of 28.59 to place third. In the 100-freestyle, first-year Emily Kendrick (Middletown, NY/Goshen Central) was second at 1:00.62. Trumino went on to win the 200-backstroke at 2:27.06, and Shaw took second with a 2:27.85.Â
Olson won the 500-freestyle in a time of 5:43.27, and Nakken was third after touching at 5:57.16. Oneonta took the top three spots in the 100-fly, with Armstrong winning in a career-best time of 1:06.16. Guzzo was second at 1:07.98, and McCall claimed third at 1:08.40. Armstrong followed with a second-place finish in the 200-IM (2:26.75), and Oneonta closed the day with a first-place 200-freestyle relay (1:49.29) of Kendrick, LaBarbera, Olson, and Keddy.Â
In the three-meter dive, first-year Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) won with 188.05 points, and sophomore Paige Splendido (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) was second with 159.00. Hodkinson also won the one-meter with 196.80 points, while Splendido was second at 152.20 points. Sophomore Margaret Nolan (North Bellmore, NY/Mepham) took third after scoring 151.15.Â
Oneonta next competes at the Diamond City Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, PA, from Nov. 18-20.Â
