The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team had its five-game win streak halted tonight at Oswego with an 86-58 loss. The Red Dragons are now 11-7 overall and 7-4 in the SUNYAC while the Lakers remain undefeated in the conference moving 11-0 and 17-1 overall.

"They took it to us tonight," said Head Coach
Cameron Conover. "They were better in all aspects of the game. They're a very good team and they are playing well.  We will have to be better tomorrow when we face another very good Cortland team. Tomorrow is another day and it can't come soon enough."

The Inside Story
After a pair of free throws by senior
Sean Nolan (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) gave Oneonta a 2-0 lead, Devin Green buried a three-pointer for Oswego to put them ahead on the ensuing possession. Junior
Michael Ortale Jr. (Bethlehem, NY/Bethlehem Central) tied the score at 5-5 before Oswego gained the lead for good enroute to the lopsided victory.

After falling behind by 10 points, Nolan and Ortale scored on successive possessions cutting the deficit to 19-13 at the 11:13 mark of the opening half. From that point, it was all Lakers, as they began to pull away building itself a 41-22 lead at halftime.

The second half wasn't too much different, as the Lakers built its lead to as many as 34 points with five minutes to go in the contest.

Just the Stats
Oneonta had only one player reach double figures tonight, as junior
Dylan Trombley (Moriah, NY/Moriah) scored 10 points.

Oneonta was outrebounded 47-42 in the game and 42 of the Lakers points came in the paint. Oswego also scored 18 points off turnovers and recorded 15, second chance points.

Oneonta will face rival Cortland tomorrow on the road beginning at 4pm.
