A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team was clipped today, 1-0, versus RIT in its first home game since Oct. 29, 2019.  The loss for the Red Dragons drops them to 0-2 while the Tigers move to 2-0.
 
The Inside Story
An uneventful first half of play resulted in a 0-0 tie heading into halftime.
 
The visitors netted its eventual game winner in the 55^th minute of play when junior Maddy Bullis sent a pass ahead to classmate Christine Cataldo-Smith, who then carried it for about 15 yards into the box.  She then sent a shot along the ground that headed past a diving Claire Lepper (Poland/Poland) into the lower left corner of the goal.
 
The Tigers controlled the play for much of the remaining 35 minutes to secure the victory.
 
Just the Stats
Oneonta was outshot 19-6 in the match including 10-2 in the second half.  Lepper came away with six saves while Darcie Jones of RIT recorded three stops.
 
What's Next
Oneonta will have the whole week off to prepare for the 2021 Oneonta Mayor's Cup Tournament that begins next Saturday, Sep. 11.  The Red Dragons will take on Roanoke at noon on Red Dragon Field.
