A Quick Look
In a match that almost felt like an NCAA tournament contest, preseason No. 24 SUNY Oneonta battled preseason No. 7 Rensselaer to a scoreless draw at home today in the season opener for both squads.
Â
"Today was a fair result," commented Head Coach
Iain Byrne. "It was the first game for both teams in nearly two years, but it was competitive and hard fought. We are looking forward to the games ahead, as we get ready for our conference schedule."

The Inside Story
Both squads had its share of chances throughout the 110 minutes of play. Both keepers were up to the task making the stops when needed. Oneonta keeper
Nate Hanna (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) came away with three saves today while his counterpart Luke Brezak came up with seven stops.
Â
The action went end to end, as both squads looked for its opportunities. The Red Dragons held a slight 15-11 edge in total shots, but eight of Oneonta's were on frame while only three shots for Rensselaer were on goal.
