The Inside Story
Senior
Matt Howe (Hopewell Junction/John Jay) and juniors
Lucas Fecci (Somers/Somers) and
Ethan Brunell (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) led the offense in today's win. Fecci, who scored twice yesterday including the game-winner, added another game-winner in the 66
th minute that put the Red Dragons ahead 2-0. Today's goal came off a rebound of a shot by Howe that was blocked in front.
Â
After a scoreless first half of play, Howe got the Red Dragons on the scoreboard just over three minutes into half two. Howe was able to settle a ball that came into the box from Brunell before getting off a shot that found the back of the net. Howe's goal was his third of the season while Brunell collected his third assist of the weekend.
Â
Brockport scored its lone goal in the final minute of the match when Hunter Kassel volleyed a ball that came from the keeper. With his back to the goal, he popped a ball up over his head that bounced once and continued over the line for the score.
