The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team traveled to rival Cortland this afternoon for a rare non-conference game due to the East-West alignment. With only a day's rest between its last game on Friday, Oneonta fell hard to its rival Red Dragons 21-5. The loss was Oneonta's first of the season, as they are now 4-1 overall.

Oneonta was held scoreless through the first two periods before getting on the scoreboard with 3:14 to go in the third period. From that point forward, Oneonta did outscore Cortland 5-3, but the game was already decided.

Oneonta will travel to Potsdam this upcoming Friday afternoon for a SUNYAC East contest beginning at 4pm. Oneonta, who has already clinched a playoff spot, can clinch first place in the East with a victory against the Bears.
