After a sluggish start, the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball found its stride enroute to a lopsided 76-61 win tonight at SUNY Cobleskill. The win for the Red Dragons was its first of the season, as they are now 1-4. The loss for the Fighting Tigers drops them to an identical 1-4 record.

The Inside Story
Oneonta had an early lead in the first quarter before falling behind 13-7 late. Seven unanswered points to end the quarter put the Red Dragons ahead for good. Freshman
Nadia Brown (Troy/Troy) scored five points in the opening quarter to pace Oneonta.

Oneonta put the game out of reach in the second quarter exploding for 31 points to blow open the contest and take a 45-26 lead entering the break. Sophomore
Molly Stephens (LaGrange/Arlington) led the charge burying four three-pointers in the quarter scoring 12 points. Freshman
Amanda Zuntag (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy) added six points in the quarter.

The Red Dragons continued to extend its lead in the third quarter building it to as many as 29 points with 1:01 remaining in the quarter. Oneonta scored 22 points in the third quarter on 8-of-19 shooting.

The Fighting Tigers outscored Oneonta 21-9 in the final quarter, but the game was already decided.

Just the Stats
Oneonta had four players in double figures tonight led by Stephens who finished the game with 15 points. Zuntag was next with 14 points followed by Brown with 11 points and
Olivia Dobrovosky (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) with 10 points.

Cobleskill also had four players in double figures led by Megan Hughes and Annie Canales who each scored 12 points.

Cobleskill finished the game with a 51-43 advantage off the glass while their bench posted 37 points.

Oneonta converted 22 Fighting Tiger turnovers into 26 points.
