My name is Lyteshia Price. I attended Oneonta from 2012 through 2016 and played on the women's basketball team during those respective years. I graduated with a Bachelor of science degree in Physics. After graduating I began my pursuit for environmental work at a Nature center as well as coaching at Cazenovia College. In 2018, I found my current job at Water Environment Protection for Onondaga County. My job in the Laboratory is to operate,  document, and maintain equipment in various analyses of the water in Onondaga county according to NYS and EPA regulations.
 
I believe basketball has always given me different opportunities than I would have received if I didn't play. But, playing at the DIII level it allowed me to pursue a physics degree while competing with great players, and maintaining a "normal" college life. I also had a daughter in between my sophomore and junior year of college, so the department's emphasis on school and family first helped me provide structure and balance in my life so I would be able to continue to excel in all three areas.
 
Oneonta helped organize me, as well as grow my personal life. Coach Thompson was adamant on self-growth throughout my four years, and it helped me post-grad to continue working on myself setting life goals and facing them head on.
 
My advice is to train to be the best you can be, in life and in sports.
 
My most memorable moment will always be when we beat Cortland the last time in 2016. Playing in 2015-2016 was a special time for me and my daughter. That team was one of my favorite basketball teams I have ever been a part of.
 
Shockingly now I spend my spare time running my daughter around to her sports practices and watching basketball games. I do intend to find my way back to coaching eventually, but for now I am working and trying to be the best Mom I can be.
