Four players scored in double figures led by sophomore
Dylan Trombley's (Moriah, NY/Moriah) 19 points off the bench, as the SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team defeated SUNY Geneseo 81-54 in the quarterfinals of the SUNYAC tournament. Oneonta (19-7) will now face Potsdam this Friday night in the semifinals at Brockport beginning at 5:30pm.

Cameron Conover. "I thought our guys got more focused as the game went on. In the second half our guys picked up their defensive intensity and focused on the task at hand. We are excited to still be playing and we look forward to this weekend."

The Inside Story
Oneonta led wire-to-wire in this one. Senior
Kevin Mackin (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) picked up from where he left off this past Saturday scoring the first eight points of the game. Mackin finished the contest with 16 points including 11 in the opening half. Mackin connected on four more shots from behind the arc to add to his single season record, which is now at 103 and counting.

Geneseo (9-17) made a run at Oneonta midway through the first half pulling to within 18-15 with just over seven minutes remaining. After a timeout, the Red Dragons put together a quick 8-2 burst to push its lead back to nine points with 5:47 to go. A three-pointer by senior
Harrison Deegan (Putnam Valley, NY/Putnam Valley) kept Oneonta's lead at nine points, 34-25, heading into halftime. Deegan finished the game with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Geneseo hung around for the first six minutes of the second half before Oneonta put the clamps down and took control of the game for good. A 15-2 run over a four-minute stretch put the game out of reach for the Knights. Trombley, Deegan, senior
Ian Schultz (Clifton Park, NY/CBA) and junior
Andres Rivera (Bronx, NY/Walton) led the charge for the Red Dragons. Schultz grabbed a game high 11 rebounds to go with his season high 18 points to record his third double double of the season. Rivera had a highlight dunk in the game off an alley-oop from Deegan.

Oneonta made 12, three-pointers in the game led by five from Trombley. The Red Dragons shot 47 percent from the field including nearly 53 percent in the second half.

What's Next
A semifinal victory on Friday night would put Oneonta in the championship game on Saturday afternoon against the winner of the Brockport/Oswego game. Scheduled tip-off time on Saturday is 4pm. The
