Oneonta, NY - The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming and diving squad were clipped by its rivals from New Paltz by a score of 108-95. Several highlights did occur for the Red Dragon women.
Notable results were in the 200 yard freestyle as junior
Katherine London (Staten Island/St. Joseph Hill Academy) picked up a win recording a time of 2:04.15 more than three-seconds ahead of the New Paltz trailer. London also picked a win in the 500 yard freestyle touching the wall with a time of 5:36.53 more than 10 seconds ahead of the New Paltz second place finisher.Â
The 400 yard individual medley found senior
Samantha Immitti (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy) and freshman
Samantha Sanchez (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown) taking the winner and runner-up positions respectfully with Immitti recording a time of 5:16.56 less than three-seconds separating the pair.
Senior
Kelly Carey (Suffern/Suffern) picked up a win of her own triumphing in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:33.54 less than a half second ahead of the Hawks runner-up. Carey's victory highlighted the last win on the day for Oneonta.
Next up is a home meet v SUNY Cortland which will take place on Saturday, February 1st with a start time of 1 PM. The matchup will be contested in the Chase PE Pool.
