A Quick Look
Sophomore
Dylan Trombley (Moriah, NY/Moriah) scored 20 points off the bench today to lead SUNY Oneonta to a 84-76 win at home against New Paltz in SUNYAC men's action. The Red Dragons held off a second half rally by the Hawks to remain undefeated in the SUNYAC at 3-0 while pushing its overall record to 7-3 with its sixth straight win.
Â
"We will take the win, as it is hard to win conference games, however, we have a lot of work to do," said Head Coach
Cameron Conover. "We lost some focus tonight, and we had some uncharacteristic turnovers. I know our players will keep working and we will continue to improve."

A 13-3 run over the next five minutes led to a swell, as Oneonta opened up the game enroute to a 44-29 lead at halftime. The Red Dragons shot 51 percent from the floor in the opening half led by Trombley who was 4-of-5 to lead with nine points. The senior trio of
Harrison Deegan (Putnam Valley, NY/Putnam Valley),
Kevin Mackin (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) and Schultz each added seven points in the opening twenty minutes.
Â
An 11-2 run by the Hawks to begin the second half tighten the score at 46-40. Senior Tristan Wissemann led the way with a pair of long-range shots. Wissemann led all scorers in the game today with 31 points including five threes.
Â
Oneonta countered with nine unanswered points including seven from Trombley to push the Red Dragons' lead back to 17 points three minutes later.
Â
Oneonta held its double-digit lead until another Wissemann trey closed the gap to nine points with just over six minutes remaining. One final push by the Hawks late brought them to within five points in the final 30 seconds, but Oneonta was able to convert 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
