The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team was downed today by Frostburg 16-7. The loss puts the Red Dragons at 2-2 overall while the win for Frostburg put them at 3-1.

The Inside Story
Oneonta played even with the hosts through the first quarter scoring four times and outshooting Frostburg 15-10. After falling behind 3-0 in the first four minutes, the Red Dragons scored four of the final goals of the quarter to finish at 4-4. Senior

Logan Michalisin (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and
Thomas McRae (Northport/Northport) completed the scoring in the quarter.

Frostburg established control in the second period outscoring the Oneonta 5-1 to grab a 9-5 lead at halftime.

A tight third period saw the two team combine for three goals, as Frostburg increased its lead by one to 11-6. The hosts put the game out of reach in the final 15 minutes with another five-goal outburst.

Just the Stats
Panno led Oneonta with three goals while adding one assist for a four-point game. McRae tallied a pair of goals and Michalisin added an assist to go with his goal.

Matthew Ward scored six times to lead Frostburg who got three goals and two assists from Paul Ruppert.

Frostburg held the shot advantage at 47-42 while winning 19-of-25 faceoffs. Oneonta was good on 17-of-20 clears and Frostburg was successful on 25-of-29.
