The Inside Story
Skidmore jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the end of the first period. The lone goal for the Red Dragons was scored by senior
Stephen Panno (Holtsville/Sachem East).

The Red Dragons bounced back in the second period to pull within one goal at 5-4 heading into halftime. Panno scored all three goals in the period for Oneonta.

Oneonta (2-1) battled back to tie the score at seven apiece heading into the fourth period. Sophomore
Andrew Stamatel (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) led the Red Dragons with all three scores in the period.

In the fourth period, Skidmore would pull away to lead 11-7 scoring four unanswered goals. The two teams exchanged goals to make the score 12-8 with 1:02 remaining. Panno and
Thomas Moore (Rockville Centre/South Side) scored in the final minute for Oneonta but time ran out on the run.

Skidmore held the advantage in shots, 45-34, and ground balls 41-36 while also edging Oneonta, 14-12, in faceoffs. Both teams were successful on 22-of-27 clears. Skidmore was 1-of-6 on extra-man opportunities while the Red Dragons were 0-for-3.
