The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team raced past Anna Maria 14-2 today in non-conference action. The win for the Red Dragons evened its overall record at 5-5 while the AMCATS fall to 3-5 after the loss.

Oneonta scored the game's first seven goals to leave to doubt about the final result. Senior
Stephen Panno (Holtsville/Sachem East) scored a pair of goals while classmate
Thomas Moore (Rockville Centre/South Side) and sophomore
Michael Benasutti (Centereach/Centereach) each had a goal and an assist.

Anna Maria scored single goals in the second and fourth periods.

Oneonta continued to build on its 7-1 halftime lead scoring four goals in the third and three more in the final period.

The highlight of the final period was freshman
Jason Guevara (Shoreham/Shoreham-Wading River) notching his first collegiate goal.

Oneonta finished the game with 63 shots and 47 ground balls. They were successful on 25-of-26 clear attempts and caused 20 turnovers.

Panno finished the game with four goals and two assists to lead the offense.Â
Zachary Flynn (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) only had to make a pair of saves in recording his fifth win of the season.

Oneonta will travel to Brockport on Saturday to open its 2019 SUNYAC schedule. Â Faceoff is scheduled for 1pm.
