A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team traveled to No. 19 Ithaca College tonight and fell to the Bombers 16-4.  The loss for Oneonta dropped them to 3-5 overall while the hosts raised their record to 4-1.
 
The Inside Story
The Bombers jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first period.  Connor Crosson led Ithaca with a pair of goals.
 
Ithaca increased its lead to 7-1 entering halftime.  Crosson added his third goal while assisting on the third goal of the period for the Bombers.  The lone goal for Oneonta was scored by sophomore Jake Boston (Highland Mills/Monroe Woodbury).
 
The two teams exchanged two goals apiece during the first nine minutes of the third period before the Bombers closed out the period with four unanswered to grab a 13-3 lead.  Andrew Stamatel (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) and Thomas Moore (Rockville Centre/South Side) each scored unassisted goals for the Red Dragons.
 
Ithaca went on to score three goals in the final period while Stamatel scored his second of the game to account for Oneonta's goal.
 
Just the Stats
Ithaca outshot Oneonta 47-22 while winning 20-of-23 faceoffs.  Zachary Flynn (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) recorded nine saves for Oneonta while a pair of Ithaca goalies combined for seven saves.
 
What's Next
Oneonta will play its third straight road game this Saturday at Kean University beginning at 2pm.
