Troy, NY - The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming and diving squad took a double loss being outdueled by RPI 199-96 and St. Rose by a tally of 166-117.
Noteworthy finishes for Oneonta occurred in the 200 yard medley relay when freshman
Kayla Keddy (Queensbury/Queensbury), senior
Kelly Carey (Suffern/Suffern), senior
Nicole Lapinski (Pine Push/Pine Bush) and junior
Katherine London (Staten Island/St. Joseph Hill Academy) completed the race with a time of 1:55.68 just over four-seconds behind the champs from St. Rose.   Carey also finished top two in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.87 just under four-seconds behind the St. Rose winner. Carey came back later and scored a second place finish timing in at 2:35.46 in the 200 yard breaststroke with St. Rose earning top honors.Â
Lapinski had a second-place finish in the 200 yard butterfly when she touched the wall with a time of 2:23.79 with St. Rose earning the triumph in that event.  Lapinski in the 100 yard butterfly took a show position in third with a time of 1:02.60 just over one-second behind the champ from St. Rose.
London had success in the 200 yard freestyle when she finished top three with a time of 2:02.70 less than a second behind the RPI champ. London also had success in the 100 yard freestyle when she came in second only .15 seconds behind the victor from RPI. The 100 yard backstroked saw sophomore
Erin Clune (Kerhonkson/Rodout Valley) come in as a top three finisher when she timed in at 1:02.51 only a bit more than three-seconds behind the victor from St. Rose.Â
In the three-meter dive sophomore
Danielle Shaw (Pearl River/Pearl River) was in the show position with a score of 157.40 losing out to the winner and second place finishers from RPI.
The final event on the afternoon was the 200 yard freestyle relay which had the team of Keddy, senior
Ally Federman (Delmar/Bethlehem), Clune and London earning a top three finish tallying a time of 1:47.79 just over four-seconds behind the pace setters from RPI.
The SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons are back in action this coming Saturday, November 16th as they take on their hometown rivals on the campus of Hartwick College in the Moyers Pool beginning at 1 PM.
