Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer drops weekend pair on the road

A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team dropped a pair of weekend matches on the road to Brockport and nationally ranked SUNY Geneseo.  The Red Dragons have lost four straight games to fall to 5-7-3 overall and 3-4 in the SUNYAC.

The Inside Story
In both games this weekend, Oneonta went into halftime tied 0-0.  In yesterday's game versus Brockport, the Golden Eagles posted three second half goals enroute to the win.  Brockport scored in the 58th minute and then pulled away with a pair of goals in the 81st and 82nd minutes.

The nationally ranked Knights scored goals in the 52nd and 72nd minutes enroute to its shutout victory.

Just the Stats
Oneonta was outshot 19-7 versus Brockport and 17-12 against Geneseo.  The Red Dragons managed five shots on frame yesterday, but only had three on cage today.  Oneonta junior keeper Claire Lepper (Poland/Poland) recorded seven saves in both matches.

What's Next
Oneonta will complete its SUNYAC schedule of games next weekend on the road at Potsdam and Plattsburgh.  The Red Dragons are battling for one of the final playoff spots.  They currently are holding the sixth and final spot one point ahead of Fredonia.  Oneonta just needs a tie next weekend to secure their spot.
