Leanne Corso (Commack/Commack) was the difference in a 54-50 win tonight for SUNY Oneonta against rival SUNY Cortland in SUNYAC women's action. The victory for Oneonta extended its current winning streak to six games while keeping them a perfect 4-0 in conference play.

Amalbert and Corso led Oneonta (10-1) tonight with 17 points and 15 points respectively. Corso scored 13 of her points in the second half while also adding 10 rebounds.

Cortland's Kristy Vitucci made a three-pointer to tie the game one final time at 50 apiece with 41 seconds to go. After a timeout by Oneonta, Amalbert was able to get free to make her layup putting the host Red Dragons ahead by a bucket with 26 seconds remaining. After a Cortland timeout, Vitucci was unable to make a driving layup and Corso grabbed the rebound being fouled in the action. Corso stepped to the line and converted her pair to ensure the win.

Oneonta converted 11-of-12 free throws in the second half including 6-of-6 by Corso. The score was tied six times during the final quarter with the largest lead for Oneonta coming at the final buzzer. Cortland's largest lead came in the first quarter of the game at seven points, as they carried a 14-8 advantage into the second quarter.

Led by Amalbert's 10 points, Oneonta mounted a comeback in the second quarter battling all the way back to tie the score at 24 apiece entering halftime. Senior
Madeline Frank (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) scored back-to-back baskets at the end of the quarter as part of her nine points in the contest. Frank also grabbed a game high 12 rebounds.

Next up for Oneonta is undefeated SUNY Geneseo on Friday night at home in a battle for the top spot in the SUNYAC. The game is set for a 5:30pm tipoff.
