The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team scored the game's first 11 points and never looked back en route to a one-sided 72-46 win today in SUNYAC action. The win for the Red Dragons raises its overall record to 11-2 and 5-1 in conference play while the loss for the Golden Eagles drops them to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the SUNYAC.

Today's victory was a total team effort with 12 players scoring in the contest led by senior
Madeline Frank's (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) 14 points and 10 boards. Â Junior
Casey Hayes (New Hyde Park/Sewanhaka) came off the bench to score a season high 12 points in 17 minutes of action.

Oneonta's reserves scored 41 of the team's 72 points in the game. Sophomore
Clara Culeton (Oswego/Oswego) turned in another solid performance off the bench today with nine points and five rebounds.

The Red Dragons shot 49 percent while holding Brockport to just 25 percent. Oneonta held a 50-37 rebound edge while dishing out 21 assists.

Oneonta finished the opening quarter leading 22-6 and carried a 33-13 lead into halftime. Brockport did start the third quarter with a flurry, but that was quickly thwarted with another onslaught by Oneonta totaling 27 points in the quarter to extend its lead to 32 points. The Golden Eagles did manage to outscore Oneonta in the final period 18-12.

The women will conclude its semester-opening homestand this upcoming Tuesday when they will face Oswego beginning at 5:30pm.
