Volleyball earns a pair of wins at Red Dragon Classic

The SUNY Oneonta women's volleyball team opened the 2018 season going 2-2 in the Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic. The Red Dragons fell to Nazareth (3-1) and Stockton (3-1) on Friday evening before collecting wins over Lebanon Valley (3-2) and D'Youville (3-0) on Saturday.

Clara Culeton (Oswego/Oswego) paced Oneonta with 42 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. Victoria Moulder (Wantagh/Kellenberg Memorial) chipped in with 35 kills and 11 blocks, while Juliann Posch (Brookhaven/Bellport) added 33 kills. Jessica Fowler (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) dished out 144 assists along with a team-high seven service aces. Gillian Stieglitz (Montrose/Hendrick Hudson) contributed 31 kills and six blocks for Oneonta.

The Red Dragons return to action this weekend when they participate at the Coast Guard/Connecticut College Tournament. Oneonta will play Salve Regina University and Connecticut College on Friday evening before playing Maine Maritime and Coast Guard on Saturday.
