Nicholas Ponesse (Newburgh/Valley Central). He pitched six innings only allowing five hits while walking two batters in the no decision effort.
The game took a turn in the bottom of the seventh inning with the scored knotted at 3-3. The inning started with back to back errors by Oneonta putting runners on first and second base. A sacrifice bunt was tossed away for the third error of the inning allowing the first run to score. Three hits and a wild pitch later the Scots had a 9-3 lead that they would hold until the end of the contest.
For the Scots, Zach Messinger earned the win to improve to 2-1 and for Oneonta
RJ Lyman (Mohegan Lake/Walter Panas) took his first loss of the season to fall to 0-1.
