Teresa Anken (Rome/Rome Free Academy) converted a pair of free throws with two seconds left on the clock to put the finishing touches on a 53-48 win tonight at Brockport. The Red Dragons scored the final nine points of the game to overcome a 48-44 deficit with 2:26 remaining.

Oneonta (16-6, 11-4 SUNYAC) led for most of the game before Brockport (10-12, 8-7 SUNYAC) scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to grab its first lead of the contest. The Golden Eagles' run carried over from the third quarter where they scored the last basket to close to within 36-32.

A free throw by Emily Nestler opened up a five-point lead for the hosts with just under five minutes to go. Nestler finished the game in double figures with 11 points.

Olivia Allrich (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) closed the gap to one point at the 2:43 mark. An old-fashioned three-point play by Zaria McCullough then gave the Golden eagles its final points of the contest while giving them a 48-44 lead.

Casey Hayes (New Hyde Park/Sewanhaka) started Oneonta's closing run with a lay up at 2:04. Neither team would score for nearly 1:30 before a three from senior
Samantha Lisikatos (Cold Spring/Haldane) gave the Red Dragons a 49-48 lead with 38 seconds remaining. Lisikatos scored eight points off the bench leading the reserves to a 19-8 advantage in the game. Freshman
Maya Bernsley (Monroe/Monroe Woodbury) added five points and six rebounds in 15 minutes of action while Hayes contributed four points.

Madeline Frank (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) scored six points in the opening two quarters to lead the Red Dragons to a 28-19 lead at the break.

Anken and Lisikatos fueled a 10-0 run to begin the game for Oneonta as they grabbed a 15-8 opening quarter.

Allrich was the top scorer for Oneonta tonight with 10 points. Anken and sophomore
Leanne Corso (Commack/Commack) each had nine points. Corso also added a game-high 10 rebounds.

Oneonta will put its five-game win streak on the line tomorrow afternoon against SUNY Geneseo, who clinched the top overall seed for the conference tournament with its win against New Paltz tonight. The Red Dragons clinched its playoff spot last weekend and are now battling for a bye in the opening round of the tournament. Oneonta is currently tied for second place with rival SUNY Cortland with three games left in the regular season.
