Teresa Anken (Rome/Rome Free Academy) scored 13 second half points to lead the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team to a 50-46 come-from-behind win on the road at Utica College tonight. The win for the Red Dragons kept them perfect in the early season at 4-0. The loss for the Pioneers dropped them to 2-1.

After trailing 25-13 at halftime, the Red Dragons began chipping away at Utica's lead early in the third quarter. Seven unanswered points capped with a three-point play by senior
Madeline Frank (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) made the score 27-20. By the end of the quarter, Oneonta only trailed by four points at 33-29.

Frank got things started in the fourth quarter with a jumper to pull the Red Dragons to within a basket. Anken capped another five straight points for Oneonta to give them a 36-33 lead.

Junior
Olivia Allrich (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa), who was scoreless through the first three quarters asserted herself down the stretch scoring all eight of her points in the final quarter.

Oneonta shot nearly 50 percent in the second half fueling their comeback. The Red Dragons outrebounded Utica 41-29 in the game including 17 offensive rebounds that led to 11 second chance points. Frank led all players with 10 boards to go with her nine points.

Oneonta will have a week off before getting back to action next Tuesday night at home hosting city-rival Hartwick College in the Dewar Arena beginning at 6pm.
