Four players scored in double figures led by sophomore
Sean Nolan's (Voorheesville, NY/Voorheesville) game high 20 points, as the SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team opened its 2018-19 season with a comfortable 91-73 victory against Keystone College. The Red Dragons shot well over 50 percent for most of the contest and outrebounded the Giants 58-37.

Oneonta had an early 5-2 lead before Keystone scored five unanswered to take its only lead of the game at 7-5. An old fashioned three-point play by junior
Ian Schultz (Clifton Park, NY/CBA) put the Red Dragons in the lead for good just four minutes into the first half. Schultz finished tonight's game with 14 points and seven rebounds hitting 4-of-6 from the floor.

Oneonta continued to pull away from the Giants throughout the remainder of the half building its lead to 50-36 at the break. The Red Dragons shot 54 percent from the field during the opening 20 minutes with 28 of its points coming in the paint.

The second half was much of the same, as Oneonta's lead ballooned to 28 points with just under eight minutes to play. Sophomore
Jacob Rodriguez (Bronx, NY/Mount St. Michael Academy) led the reserves tonight with 11 points and 11 boards, as Oneonta's bench outscored Keystone's 26-21.

Junior
Kevin Mackin (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) made a game high three, three-pointers and finished the contest with 19 points in 28 minutes. Freshman
Julius Goddard (Amityville, NY/Amityville) scored his first collegiate basket with 2:15 to go in the game on a jumper.

Keystone had four players in double figures also led by junior Jalen Flynn's 16 points. Classmates Javonte Matthews and Ray Mills each had 14 points and senior Terrence Bowman added 10 points.

Oneonta will have a week off before getting back into action at the Susquehanna Tournament next weekend. The Red Dragons will face Grove City College on Friday night beginning at 6pm.
