SUNY Oneonta baseball falls to Ithaca College 19-3 in a mid-week regional match up. The Red Dragons dropped to 14-17 and the Bombers improved to 21-9.
The Bombers came out on fire dropping 13 runs in the top of the first inning. In the inning Adam Gallagher was 2-2 with three RBIs and a stolen base. Â The Ithaca Bombers had a total of 11 hits and only left one batter on base.
The Red Dragons scored two runs in the second inning, off of three hits. With one out senior
Sage Cheren (Bronx/Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy) doubled to left field. The next batter freshman
James Ceparano (Melville/Half Hollow Hills East) singled to right field to advance Cheren to third base. A double to right field by senior
Michael Grudzinski (Islip/Islip) scored both Cheren and Ceparano to cut the Bomber's lead to 14-2.
Oneonta's
Zachary Zimardo (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) pitched 4.0 innings without allowing a run and only allowing two hits while striking out two batters.
The Red Dragons are back in action this weekend in a conference series at Oswego State. The first game is scheduled to start at 3:00pm on Friday, April 28
th.
