The SUNY Oneonta softball team ran its winning streak to seven games today with two more wins in Florida. The Red Dragons picked up victories against Alfred University and John Carroll to run its record to 7-1.

Oneonta jumped out to a quick lead in the top of the first inning scoring a pair of runs. Senior
Katie O'Gorman (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and sophomore
Alyssa Garrison (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) both walked to start the inning. Sophomore
Lauren Sabatino (Bayville/Locust Valley) then singled to right field, which allowed O'Gorman to score on an errand throw from right field to the plate. Garrison moved to third and Sabatino moved up to second base on the play. Garrison then scored on a ground out to first base by sophomore
Dana Del Genio (New Hartford/New Hartford).

The Saxons scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double by Dominique D'Andrea with two outs.

Sabrina DeAngelis (East Meadow/Kellenberg Memorial) threw shutout ball the rest of the way scattering seven hits and striking out three. DeAngelis picked up her third win of the trip and has an ERA of 0.41 thus far.

The Red Dragons scored one run in the fifth, two in the sixth and one more in the seventh for the final margin of victory. Freshman
Kate Jencarelli (Roseland, NJ/West Essex ) connected on her first collegiate home run in the seventh.

Brooke Corbett (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central/Delmar) all finished the game with two hits apiece to lead the offense. The first six batters in the lineup all drove in a run.

Senior
Amanda Graziano (Riverhead/Riverhead) threw a complete-game, three-hitter to pick up her second win of the season. Graziano struck out five batters while throwing 95 pitches.

Sophomore
Selena Ruiz (Westbury/W.T. Clarke) recorded her second, three-hit game of the season to lead a 12-hit attack. O'Gorman, Sabatino and senior
Jennifer Brocco (Kingston/Kingston) all added two hits each.

The Red Dragons scored all of its runs in the first two innings. In the first inning, Oneonta's two runs came with two outs, as Del Genio drove in the first run on an infield single and then Jencarelli singled up the middle to drive in the second run.

Oneonta loaded the bases with one out before Sabatino drove in a pair with a single. The third run of the inning came in on an infield single by senior
Marlene Cuevas (Wappingers Falls/Roy C. Ketcham).

Oneonta will play two more on Friday against the College of Saint Benedict and Juniata College.
