The win streak for the SUNY Oneonta baseball team moved to four games today after a pair of victories against Medaille in Auburndale, Fla. The Red Dragons were aided by a four run sixth inning to beat the Mavericks 4-1 in the first game while the Red Dragons never trailed in game two in winning 10-1.  The Red Dragons improved their record to 4-3 this season.
Oneonta started off slow in the top of the 1
st inning when the Red Dragons hit the first three batters of the game. Junior
Thomas Bond (Somers/North Salem) would limit the damage in the 1
st inning by only allowing one run off of one hit. Bond pitched lights out the rest of the game only allowing five hits, while striking out eight batters over seven innings in the complete game victory. With this victory Bond is now 1-1 with 11 strikeouts and has only allowed six earned runs in his three appearances this season.
The Red Dragons took advantage of great base running and sloppy defense by the Mavericks in the 6
th inning to secure the victory today. In the bottom of the 6
th senior
Casy Kies (Apalachin/Vestal) led the inning off with a single, and stole second base to put the tying run in scoring position. Sophomore
Mickey Mullins (Vestal/Vestal) with one out drove in Kies to knot the game 1-1 with an RBI single. Mullins took off and swiped second base to put the go ahead run in scoring position. Â Freshman
Brandon LaVenture (Schenectady/Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) reached base safely on a passed ball on the catcher, and Mullins advanced to 3
rd base. Senior
Sage Cheren (Bronx/Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy) squared around to sacrifice bunt, and got the bunt down to score the run to go ahead. An error by the pitcher allowed Cheren to reach base safely and LaVenture to get to 3
rd base. The Red Dragons score the two runs on 2
nd and 3
rd to take a 4-1 lead and held the lead to take game one.
In the second game the Red Dragons junior
Dalton Beatty (Atwater/Atwater) went 3-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Senior
Michael Grudzinski (Islip/Islip) went 1-3 with a homerun. Senior
