The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team never led in the contest, as they fell to Wesleyan University on the road today 16-6. The loss for the Red Dragons drops them to 3-3 overall while Wesleyan moves to 5-2 overall.

After falling behind early 2-0, sophomores
Nick Schuman (Webster/Webster Thomas) and
Nathan Doody (Tully/Tully) scored back-to-back goals to tie the game at the 6:59 mark.

The host Cardinals then seized control of the game, ripping off seven unanswered to grab a 9-2 halftime lead.

Sophomore
Alec Solomito (Holtsville/Sachem East) scored the first goal of the third quarter to stop the Wesleyan run. Doody added his second goal to answer another score by the Cardinals before the hosts put the game out of reach with five straight goals to take a commanding 15-4 lead.

Connor Coyle (Centerport/Harborfields) contributed one goal and a pair of assists.

Oneonta's next game is this Wednesday afternoon when they will face city-rival Hartwick in game one of a doubleheader that will include a women's game afterwards between the Hawks and Red Dragons. The men's game is scheduled for a 3pm faceoff.
