The visiting SUNY Geneseo Knights made 15-of-22 shots including 7-of-12 from long range in the second half en route to a 79-74 come-from-behind victory today against host SUNY Oneonta. Geneseo (17-6/10-5 SUNYAC) scored 49 points in the second half and erased an eight-point halftime deficit in overcoming Oneonta (13-10/8-8 SUNYAC).
Â

Â
After five unanswered points by the Red Dragons, the Knights countered with a 12-2 run to grab a 51-49 lead at the 12:20 mark. The lead for Geneseo was its first since an 8-7 lead in the first half. Junior Justin Ringen capped the run with a layup and three-pointer. Ringen led all scorers in the contest with 24 points.
Â
A layup by senior
Mikey McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) at the 11:13 mark knotted the game at 54 apiece. This would be the last time that the score would be tied, as junior Jonathan Cohen drained a three on Geneseo's next possession to put them back ahead to stay.
Â
The Red Dragons kept cutting the deficit to one point, but couldn't find the go ahead basket.
Â
McElroy and junior
Lawrence Coleman (Croton on the Hudson/Hendrick Hudson) led Oneonta today with 19 points each. McElroy also added a game high 10 rebounds while classmate
Seth Thomsen (South New Berlin/Norwich) contributed 10 points.

Â
