The SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team had eight players score tonight, as they handled Brockport in its SUNYAC opener on the road 63-46. Sophomore
Madeline Frank (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) led Oneonta (4-1, 1-0 SUNYAC) with 15 points and eight rebounds while senior
Cara Adams (Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) added 13 points.

The Red Dragons raced out to a 35-19 lead at halftime thanks to some hot shooting from long range. Oneonta made 6-of-12 from behind the arc in the opening twenty minutes and finished the game making 9-of-21 from long distance.

Oneonta never trailed in the game scoring the opening seven points including four from rookie
Leanne Corso (Commack/Commack). Corso finished the game with eight points and seven boards.

A three-pointer by Schyler Laux brought the Golden Eagles to within 11-10 at 4:24 of the opening period. The Red Dragons closed the period with six unanswered points to grab a 17-10 lead heading into the second stanza.

A dominant second period allowed the Red Dragons to open up the game. Freshman
Alexa Amalbert (Nanuet/Nanuet) and senior
Brianna Spector (Philadelphia, PA/Upper Dublin) combined for seven points off the bench in the period. Amalbert and Spector helped Oneonta's reserves outscore Brockport's bench 15-9 in the game.

Oneonta left no doubt who would be the victor with a strong third quarter that saw them put up 21 points. The Red Dragons connected on 8-of-13 shots in the period.

The Red Dragons handed out 16 assists on its 21 baskets led by Adams and junior
Samantha Lisikatos (Cold Spring/Haldane), who each dished out five.

Oneonta will play at SUNY Geneseo tomorrow afternoon beginning at 4pm.
