The SUNY Oneonta women's volleyball team dropped a second round match of the SUNYAC tournament to New Paltz (3-0) to end the season at an even 16-16. The Hawks will face host Brockport in the conference championship match tomorrow.  The Golden Eagles of Brockport beat Geneseo to advance to the championship.

The Red Dragons jumped out in front of the Hawks early in the first set taking a 12-5 lead forcing New Paltz to call a timeout to regroup. The Hawks then chipped away at the Oneonta lead until they tied the set 18-18 before going on to win the opening set 25-22. The Red Dragons dropped the next set by the same score 25-22, before finally bowing out in the third set 25-12.

For the Red Dragons, senior Jessica Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) had 14 assists and four aces, which led the team. Freshman Lindsay Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) had 15 digs, and junior Sara Feldman (Smithtown/Smithtown East) led the team in kills with eight. Senior Paige Carpluk (Yaphank/Bellport) had 14 digs, three assists and two blocks.
