Hard work and a relentless attack paid off today for the SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team in a 2-1 come-from behind win at home against SUNY Potsdam. The Red Dragons dominated statistically outshooting the Bears 25-5 while earning 13 corner kicks including nine in the second half. The win extended Oneonta's current unbeaten streak to five games.

It appeared the two teams would head into halftime deadlocked in a scoreless tie before a goal in the 42
nd minute by Potsdam (8-4-1, 1-3-1 SUNYAC) gave them a 1-0 lead. Sophomore Brooke Falsion kept after a ball that was headed out over the end line and controlled it enough to pull it out in front of the goal. Once there she banged a shot that sored over Oneonta keeper
Emilie Mull (Marcy/Whitesboro)'s outstretched arms. The goal was Falsion's ninth of the season, which leads the Bears.

From the opening whistle of the second half, Oneonta (6-3-4, 4-1-1 SUNYAC) continued its attack and earned three corner kicks in the opening four minutes. It was on the third corner kick that the Red Dragons finally broke through and tied the match at one goal apiece.

Emily Opalinski (East Amherst /Williamsville East ) took the kick for Oneonta and sent a perfect ball across the front of the goal where sophomore
Nicole Donadio ( Port Jefferson Station /Comsewogue) was able to head the ball past the Potsdam keeper for the tying score.

Kayla Belush (Earlville/Sherburne-Earlville). The goal came on the ensuing action after another corner kick when senior
Taylor Messina (Smithtown/Smithtown East) hustled after the original ball into the box that skidded away. Messina lifted a ball back across the goal area where Belush volleyed the pass by the keeper. The goal was Messina's team leading fifth of the season.

Oneonta will host Skidmore College this coming Wednesday for a match beginning at 4pm.
