Oneonta, NY Â - The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming & diving had its home opener today and scored a 132 to 105 victory against their SUNY rival the Oswego Lakers.
The day was highlighted with a 200-yard freestyle relay pool record by junior
Kylie Loforte (Farmington/Canandaigua Academy ), freshman
Kelly Carey (Suffern/Suffern), freshman
Ally Federman (Delmar/Bethlehem) and senior
Sarah Greco (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) timing in at 1:43.68 almost four seconds ahead their Oswego competitors.  Many other victories were recorded by the Red Dragons throughout the afternoon.

Hannah Dari (Piermont/Clarkstown South), senior
Nicole DiFilippo (Danville,PA/Danville ), sophomore
Julia Llewellyn (East Islip/East Islip High School) and Greco opened the scoring when they won the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.09 more than six seconds ahead of the Oswego runner-ups. The 1000 yard freestyle was also won by Dari touching the wall at 11:25.14.  Dari then came back later and took the 500 yard freestyle collecting a score of 5:34.37 more than 15 seconds ahead of the Oswego competitor.Â
Greco was successful with a win in the 200 yard freestyle. Loforte was also successful in the 50 yard freestyle and scored a 25.86 second win and the 100 yard freestyle in the 15th event of the afternoon.  Llewellyn was a winner in 200 yard individual medley. Carey had a success with a win in the 100 yard breaststroke checking in with a time of 1:10.90 just ahead of her teammate Difilippo.
Noting that Oneonta was short on divers this day Oswego began the day 32 points ahead but the Red Dragons made up the points and won the afternoons competition by 27 points.
The Red Dragon women will be back in action on Friday, November 4th when they host the College of St. Rose beginning at 4PM at the Chase Pool on the campus of SUNY Oneonta
