The SUNY Oneonta women's swimming & diving team had a challenging day versus its conference rival Cortland yesterday when they dropped its dual meet 139-104.

Oneonta did get off to a great start in the 400 yard medley relay, as senior
Taylor Waldrop (Fairport/Fairport), freshman
Julia Llewellyn (East Islip/East Islip High School), and juniors
Nicole DiFilippo (Danville,PA/Danville ) and
Sarah Greco (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) took the victory timing in at 4:12.63 almost seven seconds ahead of their Cortland foes.

Waldrop also found a win in the 200 yard freestyle with Greco the runner-up with times of 2:02.85 and 2:06.06 respectfully. Waldrop was also successful in the 500 yard freestyle in a very closely contested race timing in at 5:31.03 just .65 ahead of the Cortland runner-up.

Later, Llewellyn took the winners spot in the 400 yard individual medley with time of 4:52.05 more than eight seconds ahead of the Cortland second place finisher. She followed that up with triumph in the 100 yard butterfly registering a time of 1:00.53.

The final victory of the day for Oneonta was turned in by sophomore
Kylie Loforte (Farmington/Canandaigua Academy ) who won the 50 yard freestyle event with an impressive time of 25.75 more than one second ahead of her Cortland rival.

The women will now begin preparation for the SUNYAC championships that begin on Tuesday, February 16th and continue through Saturday, February 20th at the Erie Community College's Flickinger Center.
