The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team weathered an 11-3 game opening run by Fredonia today before settling in and taking them down 95-66 in SUNYAC action today. Oneonta (11-4/6-2 SUNYAC) shot 61 percent from the floor for the game while controlling the glass en route to posting its fourth 90+ point game of the season.

The victory was highlighted with senior
Mikey McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) eclipsing the 1,000 point barrier. McElroy sat at 998 points before burying a three-pointer at the 14:23 mark of the second half to put him over the mark. McElroy is the 11
th men's player all-time to reach 1,000 points reaching the milestone in his 65
th career game.

McElroy led all scorers in today's game with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting including a perfect 4-of-4 from deep. Senior
Jackson Zuvic (Cold Spring/Haldane) added 14 points in 16 minutes of action.

For the second straight game sophomore
Ian Schupp (New Hampton/Goshen) came off the bench to score 19 points. Today he scored his 19 points in 19 minutes of play, as he led Oneonta's reserves who scored 47 points in the contest.

Oneonta continued to trail Fredonia (4-11/3-6 SUNYAC) seven minutes into the game before a jumper by Schupp tied the game at 21 apiece at the 12:30 mark.

The Red Dragons broke the game open with a 21-6 run over the next nine minutes, as they took a 48-32 lead into halftime.

Oneonta led by as many as 32 points late in the second half. They finished the game with nine three-pointers and had 21 assists.

The Blue Devils had three players in double figures led by Ian Helps who scored 15 points.

Oneonta will be in action next at rival SUNY Cortland this Friday beginning at 7:30pm.
