The SUNY Oneonta women's soccer team scored an early second half goal and made it stand today in defeating Kean University on the final day of the TCNJ Adidas Classic. Today's victory of Oneonta (3-1-1) salvaged a weekend split for the Red Dragons, as they fell yesterday to the hosts 2-0.

Today's game-winner came in the opening minute of the second half when senior
Kayla Ceschini (Miller Place/Miller Place) put back a rebound of a shot by
Keley Abbriano (Hicksville/Hicksville) that deflected off the cross bar.

The Red Dragons outshot Kean (3-3) in the match 14-5 including an 8-3 advantage in the first half. Six of the eight shots came between the eighth and 18
th minute when the Red Dragons asserted itself on the attack. A couple of those shots were just wide of the goal.

Seniors
Kelley Murphy (Albany/Colonie Central) and
Rori Stark (Brewster/Brewster) shared the shutout after splitting the game in goal for the Red Dragons. Stark didn't have to make a save in the second half, as she picked up her first win of the season. Murphy made two stops in the first half.

Oneonta will have a week to rest before hosting Allegheny next Saturday beginning at 1pm. Saturday's game will be the first on the newly turfed Red Dragon Field.
