The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team went on the road today to face SUNY Geneseo and left on the short end of a 12-7 score. The loss for the Red Dragons dropped them to one game under .500 while putting its SUNYAC record at an even 2-2. The win for the Knights was its initial conference victory of the season while raising its overall record to 5-7.

Freshman
Alec Solomito (Holtsville/Sachem East) scored the game's opening goal midway through the first period to give Oneonta (5-6) a 1-0 lead. Geneseo countered with three unanswered goals to close out the first period with a 3-1 lead.

After the Knights went up 4-1 early in the second period, the Red Dragons tied the contest with three consecutive goals including a man up tally by freshman
Hunter DeLuca (Medford/Patchogue Medford). Geneseo scored the final goal of the first half with eight seconds left in the second period to grab a 5-4 advantage at the break.

The Knights won the third quarter, 3-1, to take an 8-5 lead entering the fourth quarter. In the final period, Oneonta couldn't get closer that two goals, as Geneseo scored the final three goals of the game.

Connor Coyle (Centerport/Harborfields) led the Oneonta offense with three goals. Sophomore goalie
Ryan Adler (Smithtown/Smithtown West) recorded 11 saves in the game.

Oneonta will host SUNY Cortland this Saturday at All College Field beginning at 2:30pm.
