The SUNY Oneonta women's lacrosse team battled #7 Hamilton College on a cold, rainy All College Field. The Red and White fell 11-6 in the contest. Rookie
Taylor Casey (Garden City South/Kellenberg Memorial) extended her multi-goal game streak to eight as she added two more.
Â
The freshman made an immediate impact on the game. Following a pair of saves my classmate,
Autumn Moore (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) in the first minute, Casey found the back of the net on Oneonta's first shot attempt of the day, a free position shot.
Â
Trailing 3-1 at the 10-minute mark, freshman
Jaime Morris (West Nyack/Clarkstown South) rifled her eighth goal of the year past the Continental keeper. Both would tally their second goals of the contest in the latter stages of the opening half, with Casey pulling Oneonta within one with just 13 ticks left on the clock.
Â
Moore made four saves in the stanza, while the offense fired eight shots.
Â
Senior
Nicole Boylan (Massapequa/Massapequa) answered an early Continental goal on a free position goal just under seven minutes in, however the Red and White couldn't overcome a four goal run by Hamilton, including three in a two-minute span.
Â
Oneonta falls to 2-6 as they open SUNYAC play Saturday when they play Oswego at Fayetteville-Manlius HS in Manilus, N.Y. Â
