Junior Cara Adams (Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) scored 14 points and senior Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) recorded her third double-double of the season in leading the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team to a 50-39 victory tonight against city-rival Hartwick College.  Adams connected on 4-of-9 from behind the arc while Price scored 12 points, grabbed 11 boards, blocked four shots and had two steals.  All of Price's points were scored in the final two quarters.
 
Hartwick's (1-5) only lead of the contest came in the first quarter on a basket by senior Taylor Vonasek with 2:55 remaining in the opening stanza.  A three-point basket by sophomore Samantha Lisakatos on the next trip down the floor gave Oneonta (2-2) the lead back at 8-6 enroute to a 9-6 lead after one quarter.
 
Adams scored six points in the second quarter, as the Red Dragons increased its lead to eight points entering halftime 22-14.
 
Oneonta continued to build its lead throughout the final two quarters.  Price scored seven of the Red Dragons' 10 points in the third quarter, as the lead bulged to 12 points.
 
In the final quarter, Oneonta led by as many as 18 points when Lisakatos buried another three to give the Red Dragons a 40-22 lead.
 
Ten unanswered points by the Hawks over a six minute stretch got its deficit back to single digits with 2:58 remaining in the game.
 
Both teams shot 25 percent from the floor.  Oneonta made nine three-pointers in the game and held a 48-45 advantage on the boards.
 
Oneonta will host SUNY Potsdam this Friday night in its SUNYAC opening contest.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
