The SUNY Oneonta volleyball went 2-1 at the Wellesey College Invitational this weekend. Â Senior
Jill Darpino (Endicott/Union Endicott) led the team with 39.5 points, including 34 kills. Classmate
Kristen Polan (Westhampton/Westhampton Beach) had 11 total blocks and 15 kills on the weekend.
Oneonta (14-9) began the day with a tough, five-set loss to Roger Williams University. Darpino and
Paige Carpluk (Yaphank/Bellport) led the attack with 14 and 12 kills respectively.Â
Karly Greco (East Patchogue/Bellport) registered 22 assists and 14 digs while
Allyson Coniglione (Glenville/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) collected 15 digs in the match. In the fifth and deciding set, Roger Williams broke a 5-5 tie with five unanswered points enroute to the 15-10 win.
Oneonta rebounded nicely to sweep the hosts in three sets (25-18, 25-22, 25-20) to end the day. Darpino recorded 12 kills to lead the Red Dragons. Greco added 16 assists while
Jessica Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) recorded 15 assists.
In set one, with the score tied at 13 apiece, Darpino registered three kills and Polan had one to give Oneonta some breathing room. In the second set, the Red Dragons led from start to finish, while in the clinching set, Oneonta overcame a couple of three-point deficits before finally running away with the set with six straight points to grab a 21-17 lead.

th against the Ithaca Bombers at the Dewar Arena in Oneonta, NY. This is the Red Dragons senior night where they will be honoring
