The SUNY Oneonta women's volleyball team went 3-0 in pool play this weekend and improved to 4-2 in the SUNYAC. The Red Dragons beat Potsdam in a four set match last night, overpowered Geneseo four sets and fought back from a set down to defeat Fredonia in five sets. The highlight for the weekend was senior
Jill Darpino (Endicott/Union Endicott) surpassing 1000 career kills. She led the Red Dragon attack with 42 kills over the three matches. Sophomore
Melissa Voyer (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) had 18 blocks on the weekend and senior
Karly Greco (East Patchogue/Bellport) contributed to the successful run with 46 assists.
Oneonta vs PotsdamOneonta beat host team SUNY Potsdam in four sets on Friday night. The Red Dragons dropped the first set to the Bears, but would bounce back and take the next three sets. Greco had 27 assists in this match and classmate
Kristen Polan (Westhampton/Westhampton Beach)d had six blocks for the Red Dragons. Junior
Hannah O'Neil (Brookhaven/Bellport) (11) and Darpino (10) combined for 21 of the team's 49 kills.

Oneonta vs GeneseoThe Geneseo Knights would win only the second set as the Red Dragons handily beat the Knights 3-1. The Red Dragons were led by Darpino who had a team high of 13 kills in the match. Senior
Allyson Coniglione (Glenville/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) had a match high 18 digs and junior
Jessica Pelaccio (Verplanck/Hendrick Hudson) added 22 assists.

Oneonta vs FredoniaOneonta battled with Fredonia through five sets, and went on to win 3-2. The Red Dragons would out block the Blue Devils 12-2. The leading blocker for the match was Voyer with six blocks. Darpino had a match high of 19 kills for the Red Dragons. The Red Dragons were hitting .201% in the match compared to the Blue Devils .092%. Coniglione had 28 digs of the team's 85 digs; and Pelaccio had collected (20) of the 40 assists for the Red Dragons.
