The Hawks were led by sophomore Kit Small who scored 15 points while freshman Sydney Pinn added 13 points on 4-of-5 from long range.

The first half was all about runs, as the two teams exchanged the lead four times during the opening twenty minutes.

Junior Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) made a layup for Oneonta to make it 8-7, but the Hawks ran off five straight to take a 13-7 lead at the 14:24 mark.

Oneonta regained the lead, 16-15, on a layup by junior Caysea Cohen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville) that capped a 7-2 spurt.  New Paltz countered with a 9-0 run to take a 24-16 lead before the Red Dragons stormed back with an 8-0 run to tie the score at 24 apiece with 4:08 remaining in the half.

Oneonta scored the final six points of the half, which included a three-pointer by freshman Samantha Lisikatos (Cold Spring/Haldane) to end the half, as the Red Dragons took a 30-27 lead into the break.
