Former three sport athlete for the Red Dragons, and current head coach of the women's soccer team Liz McGrail earned her 100th career win as Oneonta defeated Potsdam 2-0 on a chilly fall evening on Red Dragon Soccer Field.

The Red and White dominated play from the start, putting the first shot on target less than five minutes in to the contest courtesy of Kayla Distin (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley). Junior Caitlyn LaPier (Chazy/Chazy) set up a great opportunity for the Red Dragons in the 16th minute using fancy footwork to dance around the Bear defense to cross to classmate Jessica Lyden (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills), though her attempt went wide.

Less than five minutes later, the Oneonta offense returned to work. Senior captain Glowa started the pressure with a shot that was blocked, only to be corralled by Erica Berry (Bellmore/Kellenberg Memorial) who rifled a shot from the top of the box that sailed right over the keepers hands and under the cross bar. This was Berry's first tally of the season.

The Red and White kept the pressure on throughout the remainder of the half. Lyden dominated when it claim to 50/50 balls, resulting in her-team high five shots.

Oneonta rode the momentum in the second half, more so after Caitlyn LaPier (Chazy/Chazy) dribbled around the Bear defense to beat the keeper for her third tally of the campaign late in the 54th minute.

Kelley Murphy (Albany/Colonie Central) stopped all three shots she faced to protect the clean sheet.

Oneonta imporves to 4-6-2 overall, and 2-2-1 in conference play. The Dragons look to continue their success tomorrow afternoon when the host Plattaburgh in a 1 p.m. contest.
