Senior Alyshia Crawford (Oxford/Oxford) and freshman Cara Adams (Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) each scored 12 points to lead the SUNY Oneonta women's basketball team to a 60-42 road victory at New Paltz today in SUNYAC action.  The Red Dragons have now won five straight games to run its overall record to 9-2 while moving to 3-1 in conference play.  The loss for the Hawks drops them to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

The biggest advantage for Oneonta today came from its bench players.  Led by Adams' season high 12 points, the Red Dragons' bench outscored the Hawks' reserves 35-18.  Oneonta also made 6-of-15 shots from behind the arc while connecting on 12-of-14 from the free throw line.

Sophomore Lyteshia Price (Liverpool/Liverpool) made a pair of free throws to tie the game at 12 apiece at the 8:45 mark of the first half.  The Red Dragons then ripped off 12 unanswered to seize control of the game, as they rolled their way to a 33-14 lead at halftime.

Oneonta continued to roll in the second half with much of the reserves playing most of the second half.  The Red Dragons finished the game shooting 39 percent from the field to New Paltz's 20 percent.

Oneonta will travel to SUNY Cortland on Tuesday night to renew its battle with its rival Red Dragons.  The two are currently atop the SUNYAC standings in the early going.  The game is scheduled for a 6pm tip-off.
