Despite having four players in double figures tonight, the SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team came up short at home to Plattsburgh 86-77.  Freshman Jackson Zuvic (Cold Spring/Haldane) scored a team high 23 points, including 21 in the second half, as Oneonta (2-17/1-11 SUNYAC) rallied back from a 17-point deficit with 5:40 to go in the game.

The Red Dragons trailed 71-54 after a Jordan Moody layup gave Plattsburgh (13-6/9-3 SUNYAC) its largest lead of the game.  Oneonta countered with a 16-6 run over the next three minutes to cut the lead to seven points.

A layup by sophomore Zach Mager (New City/Clarkstown South) with 1:09 to play brought Oneonta back to 81-77.  Junior Chris Manning scored five of his seven points in the game to close out the contest for the final margin of victory.

Mager finished the game with 21 points that included a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line.  Classmate Frankie Kelly (Brewster/Kennedy Catholic) added 13 points and five assists while freshman Jack Dignan (Brewster/Brewster) scored 10 points to go with five assists and five steals.

Junior John Perez led four Cardinals in double figures with 20 points.  He also had seven rebounds and three steals.  Moody was next with 13 points followed by Ezra Hodgson and Kalik Parker, who scored 11 and 10 points respectively.

Oneonta will host SUNY Potsdam tomorrow afternoon for a SUNYAC contest beginning at 4pm.
